Overview
With the Intel 815 chipset, Intel has introduced innovative technology to optimize flexibility and stability in Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium III processor-based PCs. This complete platform solution supports both .13 micron and .18 micron socket 370 Intel processors, and utilizes a single driver featuring full backwards compatibility for increased quality and reliability. Intel 3D with Direct AGP is easily upgraded by adding a Graphics Performance Accelerator (GPA) card, or an AGP4X card for maximum graphics performance. Intel's smart graphics integration makes the Intel 815 chipset an intelligent solution for today's complex e-Business applications. Further flexibility can be derived by taking advantage of the Communication and Network Riser (CNR) card option, which allows audio, modem, and/or LAN configurations.

This complete platform solution supports both .13 micron and .18 micron process technology, PC133/100 SDRAM memory, and utilizes a single driver featuring full backward compatibility for increased quality and reliability.
Intel's 3D with Direct AGP is easily upgraded by adding a Graphics Performance Accelerator (GPA) card, or an AGP4X card for maximum 3D graphics and video performance. For cost-effective configurations, integrated Intel¡HGraphics Technology provides smart graphics utilization, supporting both133 and 100 MHz local display cache.
The smart integration in the Intel 815E chipset design is extended to feature internal LAN capability as well as four full-bandwidth USB ports with the second-generation I/O Controller Hub (ICH2). By combining internal graphics, LAN, and support for four USB ports with the ability to take advantage of soft audio/modem technology, the Intel 815E chipset delivers an ideal solution for new innovative form factors. Further flexibility can be achieved by taking advantage of the Communication and Network Riser (CNR) card option, which allows for audio, modem, and/or LAN configuration on a single base board design.
